Intended Uses

These sewing needles are intended for use with heavy weight fabrics. Each needle has a specific purpose:

(1) Canvas needle: For canvas or heavy leather. The needle has a sharp, triangular point that extends up the shaft of the needle.

(2) Carpet needle: For rugs and carpets. The needle is short and sharp, like a standard sharps needle, but heavier weight and sturdier.

(3) Leather needle: For leather, suede, vinyl, or plastic. The needle has a sharp, triangular point. Also known as a glover needle.

(4) Sacks needle: For weaving or sewing with burlap. The needle is straight with a blunt point.

(5) Sail needle: For heavy canvas. The needle is flattened and curved at the end with a blunt point.

(6 and 7) Upholstery needle: For upholstery or any sewing project when you cannot access the back of the material. The needle shaft is curved with a sharp point.
