Intended Uses
This is a measuring multi-tool that is essentially a protractor that allows the user to easily scribe angles on to your cutting surface (or find angles)--especially 90 deg ‘square’, to measure distances (up to 7 inches), and to guide a circular saw for 90 deg. and 45 deg. cross cuts.
It was originally designed to easily measure rafter angles that correspond to the pitch of a roof--the ‘rise over the run’. The “common’ roof pitches on one of the angle guides indicates the rise (in inches) over a 12 inch distance while the “Hip-Val” angle guides refer to the rise (in inches) over a 12 inch distance for Hip and Valley-type rafters.
