Rotary Tool, Dremel 3000. This versatile rotary tool comes with a cutting guide, a collet wrench (with flat blade screwdriver), and the following mandrels (a shank necessary for attaching accessories):

  • Screw mandrel (no. 401)
  • Small Screw mandrel (no. 402)
  • (2) EZ Drum mandrels (small and large)

This tool comes in a hard case with the operating instructions (which is actually useful).

Intended Uses

According to the operating instructions this tool “is a handful of high-speed power.” It is a rotary tool (the bits rotate) that can carve, grind, polish, sand, cut, drill, and more! 


There are a ton of accessories available for specific jobs. This item comes with mandrels that accommodate many common accessories, but you will have to purchase them since they will be specific to your project.

Special Instructions

The collet provided with this tool is ⅛ inch. If you use mandrels and attachments not provided with this tool, make sure you get them with shanks that will fit this collet size. 

The mandrels provided with this tool and their use case:

  • Screw mandrel: felt polishing tip and polishing wheels
  • Small Screw mandrel: cutting wheels, sanding discs, and polishing wheels
  • (2) EZ Drum mandrels: sanding drums

  • Instruction: To attach the cutting guide, unscrew the nosecap and screw on the guide. The guide is essential for keeping the bit perpendicular to the cutting surface when cutting out shapes in material. More info about cutting material is in the operating instructions provided.
