Description
Park Tool Sprocket Remover/Chain Whip (SR-18.2). This item has a chain whip for 1/8th inch sprockets on one end and a 1" (25.4mm) box-end wrench which is meant to fit freewheel/cassette lockring tools made by Park Tool.
Often Used With: Fixed Gear Lockring Tool, Freewheel Remover Tool Set, Cassette Lockring Tool Set
Intended Uses
A chain whip is used to easily grip a sprocket (either as a single or within a cassette) for removing a lockring or to unthread the sprocket itself.
The chain whip side is designed to fit 1/8" in. fixed gear sprockets and single speed cassettes for their removal and installation.
The box end wrench side is 1 in. and is designed to fit freewheel and cassette lockring tools.
Special Instructions
The chain whip is for ⅛ in. chain components–NOT 3/32 in. chain components. ⅛ in. sprockets are thicker and run a wider, beefier-looking chain. ⅛ in. chain is commonly used on single speeds and fixed gear bikes, not multi-speed mountain bikes or road bikes.
Check out our Cassette Pliers if you’re running 3/32 in. chain.
