Special Instructions

  • Refer to "Instructions", below, for more information about start up and shut down of the pressure washer :)
  • This pressure washer must be hooked up to a spigot with the water on before starting up!
  • Gas: This engine takes only premium, unmixed gasoline–don't mix oil into the gasoline!
  • The highest pressure setting of the spray nozzle may be powerful enough to damage your car or other painted surfaces, so take precautions, like stepping back a few feet or using a lower setting when necessary.
  • When using soap/detergent, make sure you get soap made for 'downstream', 20-1 dilution applications. This washer automagically dilutes the concentrated soap with 20 gallons of water for every 1 gallon of soap.
  • Do not use bleach or solvent based detergent in this machine!

Instructions

Please consult a DTL librarian, the operator's manual, or the DTL Lib Guide to learn how to use this item or for a refresher if you haven't used one in a while. Here are the basics:

  1. Check to make sure there is adequate oil and that gas level is good!
  2. Connect the garden hose to the pressure washer and turn on water so water runs through the entire system, including out the spray wand (squeeze trigger until water comes out in a steady stream).
  3. Starting engine: On/off switch to 'on' position; Fuel switch to 'open' position; choke to 'start' position. Pull starter grip (and let back easy–no snap backs).
  4. After about 5-10 seconds on 'open' choke position, push choke to 'run' position. You are ready to pressure wash!
  5. Stop engine: On/off switch to 'off' position; Fuel switch to 'closed' position; choke to 'start' position.
  6. Finish: Pull spray wand trigger to release remaining water pressure.
