Description
Collins 19.5 in. Pick Mattock. This item has a standard #6 eye in a 5 lb head and 36 in orange composite handle.
Often used with: Round Head Shovel
Intended Uses
A pick mattock, whose head has a pick on one side and a mattock (or adze) on the other is meant to break tough ground, cut roots in rocky soil, dig trenches, etc. This tool will beat the ground into submission, if that's your goal.
A pick mattock is burly–you can also use it to lever up big boulders or even some demolition projects.
Special Instructions
The head is held on by friction and can be removed easily by holding on to it while tapping the end of the handle on the ground. Before using this item, make sure the head is secure on the handle by holding the tool upside down (with the head on the handle) and tapping the head end of the handle on the ground.
It's recommended that you don't raise this tool over your head–don't let it get much further than the height of your hips.
