Description
Werner 24 ft Type II Alum D-Rung Extension Ladder (D1224-2). This is your basic aluminum extension ladder with all the basic features you would expect.
Features of this item include:
- Approximately 12 ft long when not extended
- Maximum height of ladder in practice (leaned up against something) is 17 ft
- Maximum reach for someone at the highest safe level of ladder is 23 ft
- Rope and pulley system
- 1-3/4 in slip-resistant D-rungs
- Durable extruded rung locks are spring loaded to operate smoothly
- Heavy Duty modified I-beam side rails
- Shoe rests have slip resistant pad and can be positioned in spur position in soft ground

Intended Uses
Used for reaching heights of approximately 16-23 feet, usually outdoors, usually for painting, clearing gutters, or accessing roofs, though there are arguably many more reasons to need a 24 ft extension ladder
Special Instructions
- Weight limit: 225 lbs
- According to Werner, the highest permitted standing level on a step ladder is two steps down from the top–other resources recommend four steps down from the top.
- To determine the safe leaning angle (approx. 75 deg.) of the ladder against an object: place toes against base of ladder; standing erect, extend arms straight out toward ladder at shoulder height; middle of your palms should land on rung at shoulder level.
